Dr. Charles Raison, the director of the Behavioral Immunology Program at the Emory University School of Medicine, says that when people have a positive attitude they do not perceive stress as intensely dangerous or as difficult as they would if they had a more negative attitude. In short, having a positive attitude provides improved coping skills when you are faced with challenges or adversity.
